Blake grew up in both St. Louis, Missouri and Norwalk, Connecticut where both of his parents, both of whom are American fashion designers, supported his acting career. After graduating high school with a 4.0 GPA, Blake returned back to the east coast where he attended New York University Tisch School. He graduated from NYU with honors in both Drama (BFA) and Journalism (BA.) Blake's professional acting debut came about after director James Bartolomeo casted him as the victim on "America's Most Wanted" (1988)". Shortly after, Blake was casted as the lead role in Kirk Shannon-Butts feature film entitled Blueprint. Aside from film and TV, Blake began an early modeling career which included Mercedes-Benz print ads as well as back-to-school fashion shows. Moreover, from a young age he continued to strengthen his acting skills by doing theatre. Blake has performed on stage in New York City, St. Louis, and London. Blake is very close with his older brother who is a financial investment banker and his younger brother who is a producer and director.
Blake is cousins with actors 'Tommy 'Tiny Lister Wesley Jonathan Crystal Jenious and model/actress Wendi Duplessis.
