A native of Long Island, New York, Jon moved to Stone Mountain, GA. at the age of 5. It wasn't long before Jon became immersed in the imaginary world of acting. He would act out scenes from his favorite movies and television shows, for anyone who would be his audience. While attending Stephenson High School, in Stone Mountain, Jon took advance acting classes, in the 9th grade. He would go on to play leading roles in numerous school productions, including "Othello", "Oedipus Rex", "A Midsummer's Night", "Romeo and Juliet"; he even acted in the National Stage Play, "A Good Man is Hard to Find". Early on, his peers noticed a budding talent, right before them. Upon graduation, Jon decided to forego his dreams of Stardom, and instead, attended Fort Valley State University, where he later received his B.A. in Mass Communications. While at FVSU, Jon became a member of the illustrious Fraternal Organization, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. While attending FVSU, Jon gained a part-time job at the biggest News Station in Middle Georgia, 13 WMAZ-TV. During his 2 years at WMAZ, Jon worked his way up the ladder, starting as Teleprompter Operator, Camera Operator, and finally, as the Floor Director. It was during his time at WMAZ, where Jon regained his passion for performance. Upon graduation from FVSU, Jon returned home to Stone Mountain. He worked odd jobs for a while, before parlaying his extensive knowledge in Multimedia Production, into a budding Freelance career. In 2005, Jon began working for Tyler Perry, on his stage productions of "Madea Goes to Jail" and "Why Did I Get Married". His credits also include, "Trumpet Awards Show", "The Gospel" Movie Premier", "Bonner Bros. Comedy Show", "Gospel Music Workshop" and "The Dirty Awards Show". It wasn't long before Jon began to get the itch to be In-Front of the Camera. His passion was souring through the roof, and he couldn't hold back any longer. In 2007, at the age of 23, took the leap of faith and began to pursue his dreams of Acting. In his first auditioning experience, Jon landed a supporting role in "Jack Squad". For the next year, Jon bounced around the Atlanta Market, trying to find a way to break in; attending acting classes and networking. In mid 2008, Jon landed his first Agent, and began to navigate through the Acting scene. In 8 quick months, Jon racked up credits in "Dirty Martini", "Make It Rain", "The Spot" and "Atlanta Homicide". While pursuing his acting, Jon, who is always a visionary, had an epiphany; why not create his own material to act in. And so, a writer was born. Jon began writing monologues and soon after, short films. His first script, "Battle from Within", was produced in 2009. In one (1) short year, Jon has written 4 screenplays; "Battle from Within", a short film; "My Testimony", a Feature; and "Eros", which was written as both a short film and feature. In September 2009, Jon took his vision to another level, and teamed up with another visionary, Errol Sadler, to form the company, Supremacy Films. In April 2010, Supremacy Films will launch their first film, "Eros", a Suspense Thriller. With a strong passion for creation, a vision that is insurmountable, and wisdom, far beyond his years, it's clear to see that Jon Chaffin is destined for greatness. When asked by others, who he is, Jon simply replies, "Jon is my Name, Acting is my Gift, Writing is my Talent, Learning is my Desire, Greatness is my Destiny, Legendary is my Legacy, GOD is my Savior...Who are you"? hide |
