Magda Schneider was a Chanteuse, Stage and Film Actress. She went to study at a Klosterschule from 11 to 14 years of age and then to Business College to study Stenography and Office Management. Later she took Ballet and Art courses at the Augsburg Konservatorium. After six months she got a job as a Soubrette with success in Munich at the Gärtner-Platz Theater and then another engagement from Ernst Marischka for the Theater an der Wien. She made her Film debut in "Boykott" (1930) as a Servante. Her first big part was in "Zwei in einem Auto" ("Two in a Car") (1932). All together she made more than 60 Films. In 1933, she met Wolf Albach-Retty and they got married in Berlin. In 1938 her first daughter was born as Rosemarie, called Romy. In 1940 her son was born, Wolf-Dieter Albach-Retty. After WWII the marriage went on the rocks. Therefore she became friend with Elfriede Datzig and Albert Hehn, who consoled her. Magda stayed at her home at Mariengrund in Berchtesgarden till the end of her life. In 1943 she married Gastronomen Blatzheim, who died in 1968. In 1953, she played next to her daughter Romy in "Wenn der weiße Flieder wieder blüht" ("When the White Lilacs Bloom Again"). After that Miss Schneider worked in Cinema and TV and in 1982 she got an award called Filmband in Gold.
