His career was catapulted in 1980 when he took the lead role in John Dexter 's production of "Galileo". Since then, Gambon has regularly appeared at the Royal National Theatre and the RSC. Roles include, King Lear, Othello, Mark Anthony and Volpone. He was described by the late Sir Ralph Richardson as being "The Great Gambon" and he is now considered to be one of the British theatre's leading lights. He was made a CBE in 1992. hide

Alastair Fothergill's nature documentary Deep Blue consists of 90 minutes of footage of undersea creatures — living, surviving, fighting, and dying. Similar to like-minded documentaries such as Winged Migration and MicroCosmos, Deep Blue features footage from locations throughout the world. The great British actor Michael Gambon provides the narration, which favors involving the viewer emotionally over providing enlightening factual information on the creatures. The 22 segments of the film conclude with footage of how man has affected life under the sea. This film was originally produced for the British television series The Blue Planet. According to the filmmakers, some of the creatures seen here have never been previously recorded on film.

Ma Bergman non si arrende e torna alla carica sulla carta stampata. Il caso finisce al Congresso americano che, nell'autunno del 1999, ratifica un accordo col quale i produttori di sigarette dovranno indennizzare gli stati che hanno fatto loro causa con la cifra di 246 miliardi di dollari. Two best girlfriends living in London suddenly find themselves battling wits with seasoned criminals when they decide to blackmail the culprits of a bank heist in their neighborhood rather than reporting the crime to the police.
